A record-breaking evening with Don Wales

On Saturday 13th November, the National Motor Museum will be hosting an evening with Don Wales who will be giving a talk on his World Record Breaking success while delving into personal experiences, human endeavour and family history.
The grandson of Sir Malcolm Campbell MBE and nephew of Donald Campbell CBE, who between them broke over 20 World Land Speed Records, Don also holds numerous Land Speed Records including the World Land Speed Record for a Steam Car and the UK National Record for an electric car, ‘The Bluebird Electric’. More recently on 23rd May, Don and Project Runningblade succeeded in breaking the World Speed Record for a lawn mower.
Don is now planning the next Bluebird Electric car to attempt the World record in 2012, with a speed expected to be over 350mph – not bad for a battery car!
The evening, starting at 7.30pm, will be held in the Lecture Theatre of the National Motor Museum Collections Centre. Before, the Museum will open from 6pm for a private view.
Tickets are £10 (with all profits going to the National Motor Museum Trust) and are available by contacting Theresa Browning on 01590 614792, email: theresa.browning[at]beaulieu.co.uk
