New homes boost for Gloucestershire
The housing market in the south west received a timely boost today when the region’s leading housebuilder said it would be opening an impressive 18 new sites in the next 12 months.
David Wilson Homes will open the new developments in the next year and once complete these will provide more than 1,500 new homes. The developments have a total sales value of £300million and provide further evidence that the property market in the region is likely to outperform some other parts of the country.
“There is strong demand for houses in the south west and this will help sustain the local housing market whatever happens to the national economy,” said sales director Russell Glimstead.
“We would not be making this significant commitment to the market in this area unless we were confident about its prospects in the medium-term.
“By building these developments we will be bringing new jobs to the region. We will also be creating well-designed, competitively-priced new homes which local people need.”
The new developments include the provision of new homes in locations including Gloucestershire, Swindon, Bridgwater, Exeter, Bristol, North Somerset, Westbury and South Wales.
