Showcase for new homes in Essex

There will soon be more for families to see at Redrow’s charming waterside development in Heybridge, near Maldon, in Essex.
The award-winning housebuilder is opening a new show home at The Lakes this weekend (November 6 /7) to show off its spacious five-bedroom ‘Otford’ family home.
The Otford is the perfect home for families to spread out in as it has three floors of generous living space thanks to the additional ‘rooms in the roof’.
Beryl Williams, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Eastern), said: “The Otford is a spacious home and our interior designers have furnished and decorated it to suit modern family life.
“The ground floor consists of a fabulous open plan kitchen, dining and family room, which has been transformed into the hub of the home. There’s a sumptuous sofa and bright pink chair, where the children can play or do their homework while mum and dad are nearby in the kitchen. There’s a glass topped dining table with oak chairs, creating the perfect space for family dining or relaxed entertaining.
“In the separate lounge, the designers have incorporated a stylish taupe and ivory colour scheme, with accents of aubergines and purple. The natural coloured sofa complements classic oak furniture.
“Upstairs, a glamorous master bedroom features unusual metallic effect furniture, with dusky lilac wallpaper, giving the room a feeling of luxury and indulgence, while the two bedrooms on the top floor of the house, in what would normally be the eaves, have been made into the perfect play space for the children. One has been made into a twin room, with two single beds, while the other is a games room, with a snooker table and bean bags. A computer station makes the spacious landing area work as an additional living space.”
The home also has a host of other family friendly features, including a convenient downstairs cloakroom and utility room and en-suite to the master bedroom.
The Lakes is a picturesque new homes venture surrounded by water on three sides. There are beautiful views of the River Blackwater and the development is close to the picturesque Heybridge Basin, which offers walks along the sea wall. It’s also within easy reach of the historic town of Maldon, which is one of the oldest recorded towns in Britain; and is opposite Maldon’s Promenade Park, with its many acres of open space and children’s play areas.
In Heybridge itself there is a shopping complex, restaurants, supermarkets, pubs, and other local amenities and nearby Mill Beach is a popular holiday destination for many people.
Heybridge is approximately 30 minutes outside of Chelmsford, from where London Liverpool Street can be reached by direct rail link in around 35 minutes.
