Developer Crest Nicholson, which is responsible for the ICON development in Street, has won a prestigious UK National Training Award for a bespoke in-house training scheme for sales advisors.

The hotly contested award recognises the company’s outstanding contribution and commitment to training, learning and development in the workplace with winners including Legoland, De Vere Venues and the UK Border Agency. The benefits are already being felt at Crest Nicholson, with measurable improvements in performance and 95% of attendees reporting that the training had boosted their confidence.

Dynamic Sales, a bespoke training programme, was created by Crest Nicholson, in co-operation with training specialists Portfolio, in response to the need to up-skill sales teams to support sales activity in the current housing market. The training focuses on equipping the team not only with the day-to-day skills required in their role, but also with the industry knowledge and confidence needed to confidently answer purchasers’ questions about the local housing market, the wider economic climate and lending and valuation processes.

Laura Osborne, Sales Manager for Crest Nicholson, comments: “We are delighted to have been awarded a UK National Training Award for our Dynamic Sales training. We are committed to providing our staff with the training and development they need to perform at their very best and to enable them to provide exemplary standards of customer service. Our sales team at the ICON development in Street are integral to the success of our business and this particular scheme was borne out of the need to adapt to changing market conditions and equip staff with the skills they need to offer the best possible service and information for potential purchasers. The training has proved extremely successful not only in boosting sales but also in ensuring that morale remains high amongst the sales team during a challenging market.”

The company will now be invited to the National Training Awards 2010 UK Ceremony, to be held in London on 1st December when UK winners will find out whether or not they have won the overall Winner of the Year Award for their category.
