David Wilson Homes expands in Devon

18th November 2010 Print

The housing market in Devon has received a timely boost with news that David Wilson Homes is set to open its first developments in the county.

New homes will be built in Exeter, Cullompton and Chudeigh as the homebuilder brings its quality designs to those looking for a new home in Devon and managing director Kelvin Tutill said he was delighted to be able to introduce the David Wilson Homes brand to Devon.

“David Wilson Homes has a range of selling points which no other housebuilder can match - and helps customers get the best possible home suited to their tastes and lifestyle,’’ he said.

Top of the list is David Wilson’s gold-plated Five Year Warranty on the fixtures and fittings in every new home it builds for private sale. No other housebuilder does the same.

“Our Five Year Warranty covers just about everything in the home for the first 1,824 days of occupancy so our customers shouldn’t have to deal with any unwanted repairs or face any unexpected bills,” said Kelvin.

“We can offer this additional reassurance because we have confidence in the outstanding quality of our new homes. The people who live in our homes quite rightly expect the very highest standards – and we have the highest customer satisfaction level of any major housebuilder and five very good reasons to buy.”

The five reasons in full are:

• Five Year Warranty - no work to be done and no money to spend on the inside of your brand new home thanks to David Wilson’s guarantee.

• Market-leading designs which prioritise space, natural light and quality of finish.

• Five-star housebuilder - David Wilson Homes is the only major housebuilder to have been awarded the maximum five-star rating in the Home Builders Federation customer satisfaction survey for 2010.

• Bespoke packages such as Part Exchange which are tailor-made to help customers move-up to the next rung on the property ladder with a minimum of hassle.

• Official: Homebuilder of the Year - It didn’t surprise close observers of the industry when David Wilson Homes was officially declared Homebuilder of the Year at the 2010 Daily Telegraph British Homes Awards.

Kelvin said the strong demand for quality homes was behind the move to open the new developments in Devon. “We would not be making this significant commitment to the market in this area unless we were confident about its prospects in the medium-term.

“By building these developments we will be bringing new jobs to the region. We will also be creating well-designed, competitively-priced new homes which local people need.”

The first of these new developments, Cowick Court at Exeter will be a select cul de sac of just 13 four and five bedroom detached properties in Alphington and with easy access to the city and M5.

Potential buyers can register their interest now in this development and planned new homes in Cullompton and Chudleigh which are due to open Spring 2011.
