Essex-based property developer Weston Homes is proud to announce it has been named Housebuilder of the Year at the 2010 What House? Awards.

A panel of judges, ranging from journalists to architects, named Weston Homes as Housebuilder of the Year - the industry's most coveted accolade.

The What House? Awards judges said: "Weston Homes builds and designs very well. It shows boldness and initiative, it focuses on its customers and its staff. This award goes beyond just product and performance and looks at leadership from the top downwards and a commitment to promoting the industry and standing up for new homes and better ways to get things done."

For the third year running, Weston Homes was also named best medium housebuilder in a class containing developers who build between 100 and 999 homes each year and also picked up Bronze in two other categories, for Best Brownfield Development with Bridges Wharf in Battersea and Best Starter Home with Morello Quarter in Basildon.

The awards, in their 29th year, are the most prestigious and longest established in industry, acknowledging the achievements of housebuilders and developers of all sizes. The awards were presented at a Gala Presentation Luncheon at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, on 19th November 2010.

Bob Weston, Chairman and Chief-Executive of Weston Homes, commented: “I am delighted to be able to say that we are the Housebuilder of the Year in the UK, as well as being named Best Medium Housebuilder in the UK for the third consecutive year.

“We have successfully launched four new developments this Autumn and will be launching several more this Spring. We believe that our continued success in a challenging economic climate comes, quite simply, from building homes people want to buy; offering a winning combination of value for money with high specifications, in places they want to live.”
