Redrow to build new homes in Bilston

A former industrial site in Bilston is undergoing a transformation to make way for new homes.

The land in Dudley Street was once home to an iron and steel works and is now being developed by Redrow Homes (Midlands) to provide a choice of properties to meet the needs of a range of buyers and their budgets.

Redrow has detailed consent to build 149 homes from its critically acclaimed New Heritage Collection on the 13.8 acre site.

Designed in response to customer feedback, the New Heritage Collection is a premium housing product combining the best of old and new. Behind traditional exteriors, inspired by the architecture of the Arts and Crafts movement, the properties hide bright modern interiors styled with 21st century living in mind.

Arts and Crafts inspired features will be seen to varying degrees on the new homes in Bilston, including dropped eaves, projecting plinths, bays and other distinctive window styles, plus timber or tiled canopies over doors and windows.

The Birmingham Canal runs through the development and Redrow has also agreed to help British Waterways upgrade the towpath. The developer will also contribute to road improvements in the area.
