Daihatsu and Evecars.com bring a little sunshine into Linda’s life

Lucky reader, Linda Gordon, is celebrating winning a Daihatsu Copen worth £13,000 – in her favourite colour yellow – in a national competition in conjunction with glossy women’s magazine, eve.

Readers were asked to log onto women’s car website, evecars.com answer a simple question and send an email.

Lesley Jones, editor of evecars.com picked Linda’s call number at random and it took several telephone calls to convince Linda it was not a hoax!

Linda, who is from Thetford, Norfolk, holds six driving licences – one for the UK and 5 for various American States she has lived in during her marriage to a US Airman. She has never picked up so much as a parking ticket throughout more than 30 years of motoring.

One of over 15,000 entrants, she said: “I entered because my daughter is learning to drive and we logged onto evecars.com to get some advice on cars to consider once she has passed her test. I entered four competitions to win a car never dreaming I actually would.

“I told her she could have the car if I did win but when I was handed the keys and saw how cute it was, I may change my mind.”

Linda added: “This couldn’t have come at a better time as I haven’t had the best of health in recent times. I also have eight grandchildren who all want a ride to school in my new car so I’ll have to work out a rota so I don’t upset any of them.”

Ian Coates, Managing Director, Constitution Motors, Norwich, who organised the handover said: “Linda couldn’t have won a nicer little car. Already a cult with its cute good looks and a 660 cc turbocharged petrol engine, Copens are extremely well-equipped, and we’re sure she will have many hours of happy motoring.”
