England fans fired up for The Ashes

One of the most competitive cricket events in the world gets underway this week (25th November 2010) with England and Australia battling it out for The Ashes title.

After Australia’s dramatic defeat at The Brit Oval last year, England is fighting to keep hold of the title on Ashes soil. The team has had a great start to the tour in the warm up games while Australia seems to be suffering from a poor run of form and selection issues.

With the hours daylight in the UK steadily declining and the threat of snow (and the transport chaos that brings) looming on the horizon, now is an ideal time to consider joining the cricketers, and the 600 fans travelling with Gullivers Sports Travel, down under. One couple travelling with Gullivers is even taking the opportunity to get married while on tour, ending with a sporting honeymoon of a lifetime!

John Davison, Managing Director of Gullivers Sports Travel, says, “Supporters on our Ashes tours in Australia always have a great time because the country is such a wonderful touring destination. As always our tours have interesting itineraries, exclusive cricket functions and festive celebrations for supporters to enjoy.”

While accommodation is in short supply over the New Year period, Gullivers has managed to secure extra places meaning there is still a chance for fans to be a part of what is sure to be a carnival atmosphere in the stands.

John Davison says, “I do think that this is England’s best opportunity of winning an Ashes series down under for over 20 years; England as a unit are on the way up and whilst the poor old Aussies are really struggling at the moment they will get the fire back in their bellies at the thought of an Ashes series at home.”

Gullivers Sports Travel offers Official Vodafone Ashes Series supporter tours and packages with guaranteed match tickets.
