Building for the future in Yorkshire

As part of Miller Homes’ ongoing commitment to provide quality, affordable housing to prospective buyers in Yorkshire, sustainability and regeneration credentials are high on its agenda.
And thanks to the support of the national housing and regeneration agency, Homes and Community Agency (HCA), its ground-breaking development located on the banks of the River Aire in Hunslet, just two miles from Leeds city centre, is now beginning to take shape.
HCA has awarded Miller Homes with additional funding for its h2010 development, in recognition of the house builder’s low carbon credentials and its enthusiasm for creating a residential riverside community that combines striking architectural design with twenty first century innovations.
Sales Director for Miller Homes Yorkshire, Steve McElroy was delighted to welcome HCA Project Manager, Luke McDonald, on a recent visit to the development.
“HCA has been most supportive during the planning and construction of h2010, and collectively we have been able to bring affordable and quality housing to the region,” commented Steve. “Building on the success of our Millennium Village development at Allerton Bywater, which pushed the boundaries of housing design and eco-friendly living, we are thrilled with our latest development which embraces these key elements in homes for the future. We look forward to the continued support of HCA at h2010 and future Miller developments.”
It is one of only two developments in the area where buyers are still able to benefit from HomeBuy Direct, a government initiative whereby buyers, who qualify under the scheme, purchase 100% of their home by paying up to 70 percent of the value now, with both Miller Homes and the Government funding the remaining 30 percent. One of the biggest benefits of the scheme is that the equity loan only becomes repayable after 25 years or when the customer sells their home, whichever occurs the soonest, and there is no interest payable for the first five years. It represents a wonderful option for those struggling to find a foot on the property ladder and offers a superb opportunity to live on a stylish development.
H2010 offers excellent access to the city and an easy route to the motorway network meaning it is an ideal location for young professionals. Many new homes will be created and all will offer a unique and distinctive style of living on the rejuvenated banks of the River Aire.
“These homes are excellent – they will not only allow people to live where they want at a price they can afford, but the technologies that are being included in the development will ensure that this is one of the most environmentally friendly housing developments anywhere in the country,” commented Luke Donald project manager HCA. “When the homes are complete we will have helped ensure that our partners have created a new and sustainable community.”
Prices at h2010 currently range from £95,000 for a two bedroom apartment to £200,000 for a deluxe four bedroom, three storey townhouse. The properties are sure to delight buyers with their spacious interiors and attractive kerb appeal, together with their picturesque riverside setting.
The sales office at h2010 is open each day between 10.30am and 5.30pm.
