Daihatsu appoints Cromer Car Centre

16th April 2009 Print
Japanese compact car specialist Daihatsu has increased its dealer network in Norfolk, following the appointment of Cromer Car Centre, Cromer, proving that it’s not all doom and gloom for the automotive industry.

The small independent dealer, founded in 2006, is building on the excellent relationship that has been built up with their existing franchises. Together with their professional, experienced and friendly staff, they will offer a complete after sales service for new and used Daihatsu products from its ecologically designed purpose built premises.

The first dealership of its type in North Norfolk, Cromer commissioned underfloor heating via a heat exchanger (no gas or oil is used). These devices transfer heat as efficiently as possible, either by absorption or dissipation, and can be found in everyday equipment from refrigerators to air conditioning systems.

Dealer Principal, Robert Richmond, said: “In these unprecedented trading times, we are thrilled to be working in partnership with a company known for making reliable, affordable, low-emission, economical cars. We are very optimistic about generating new business as well as looking after our established clientele too.”

Paul Hegarty, Operations Director, Daihatsu Vehicle Distributors Limited, said: “Global environmental issues, social changes, and shifts in consumer values are all combining to put compact cars in the spotlight. Since Daihatsu was established in 1907, we have been focused on compact cars. Big is not better anymore. Rather, small is smart. Our cars are friendly to the environment as well as being people friendly. As a company we aim to become the world’s leading compact car manufacturer.”

The Coleshill-based importer signed up 20 new dealers during 2008 and currently boasts 98 UK showrooms.

Meanwhile, Daihatsu’s incredible offers including five years warranty and five years roadside assistance continue to demonstrate Daihatsu’s proven credentials in helping owners reduce their motoring costs.
