Daihatsu dealer’s charity sky-dive

19th May 2009 Print
Daihatsu dealer, Hammonds, will be taking team outings to the limit when 24 staff members will take to the skies in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Hammonds has a long standing involvement with the Guide Dogs charity and have raised more than £5000 over the past two years.

When a call came from Wendy Sictorness, Hammond Group’s accounts administrator, to raise much needed funds, 24 staff members – with ages ranging from 20 to 58 – immediately volunteered to take-part, on the condition it was a tandem sky-dive! Although nerves of steel are a requirement, tandem sky-diving gives the participant the experience of freefalling without the extensive course. Following 20 minutes instruction, the participant is ready to jump with their tandem instructor, giving them the opportunity to explore the freedom of freefall whilst soaring towards Earth at over 120mph.

David Kindred, Sales Controller, Hammonds Group, said: “Weather permitting, we will all be jumping from Old Buckenham airfield, nr Norwich on Sunday 24th May at 10:00am. We are hoping to raise a target of £10,000 with the help of family and friends of Hammonds, but if anyone would like to sponsor our efforts, please contact me on 01986 834747.”

Family-owned Hammond Group first opened its doors more than 46 years ago and together with its experienced and welcoming staff, offers a full range of new and used Daihatsu products at its bright, warm and welcoming purpose-built showroom in Norwich Road, Halesworth.
