Christmas countdown continues in Bournemouth

Snow-capped beach huts have brought the magic of Christmas to the seafront like never before and given added sparkle to Bournemouth's beachfront advent calendar.

Open to the public from 11am to 6pm everyday from now until December 24, subject to weather, the huts have already proved a huge hit with winter walkers who have warmed up with free hot mulled wine, mince pies and Christmas-inspired teas.

This week the Fire-fighter's Charity, Poole Lighthouse, Fat Face and students from the Arts University College Bournemouth will be amongst those creating a unique winter wonderland, with plenty of free samples and even the chance to win a ski holiday.

The Fire-fighters Charity started the week's Christmas countdown, raising public awareness for its work.

Local estate agent and holiday letting agency Bournecoast have transformed their own little holiday hideaway, complete with twinkling lights, Santa and Reindeer.

It'll be camera, lights and action from Poole Lighthouse on Wednesday with a Peter Pan panto-and-pirates-theme - come down for mulled wine and the chance to enter a raffle draw.

If you're worried about piling on the pounds this Christmas, head to the beach front on Thursday for vouchers, discounts and deals to Pelhams Park Leisure Centre and start the year getting fit and active.

Students from the Arts University College Bournemouth take over on Friday with an artistic projection involving a comical argument between the artist and himself.

Fancy whizzing straight for the slopes? Race down to Fat Face's ski-chalet styled hut on Saturday and enter their exclusive skiing holiday competition.

Arts University students are back on Sunday 12 December brimming with festive cheer in a unique light and sounds display including dry ice and other theatrical elements.
