5th January 2011 Print

Tickets are now on sale for Eurostar's direct weekly summer 2011 services to Avignon in the heart of Provence.

The direct service will run every Saturday from London St Pancras International to Avignon Centre Station from 9 July to 10 September 2011.

Tickets are available from £109 return in standard class and £249 return in Standard Premier. Connecting fares are also available from over 200 towns and cities across the UK, including Cambridge from £131 return, Birmingham from £133 return, Bristol from £139 return and Newcastle from £149 return.

With direct summer services and connecting services all year round, it has never been easier for passengers to visit the stunning Provence district of France. For example, a direct summer service between London and Avignon takes less than six hours and travellers arrive within a short walk of the heart of this beautifully historic city of art and culture. In addition, connecting services are available all year round and these take around six hours and arrive into Avignon TGV station, which is located a few kilometres outside the town centre.

Avignon Centre Station is the city centre station and is distinct from Avignon TGV station, which is on the TGV Med high-speed line. A shuttle bus operates between the two stations, which runs about every 20 minutes and takes approximately 10 minutes. Cost is approximately 3 euros for a single journey.

Tickets for the Avignon direct summer service and for connecting services all year round are available from eurostar.com.
