UK Equity Recovery Fund continues to deliver
Clients in Standard Life Investments' UK Equity Recovery Fund, an OEIC, had extra reason to celebrate New Year with news that the fund has now produced a return of 150% since launch on 6th March 2009.
Launched during the worst fall in equity markets since 1974 the fund was designed to give investors, particularly those willing to take on a higher degree of sector and stock risk, the opportunity to capitalise on the low stock valuations and negative investment sentiment.
Fund Manager David Cumming, Head of UK Equities, Standard Life Investments, said: "I am delighted that the fund has been able to deliver such strong returns for our investors since its launch in the spring of 2009.
"In my view, despite the recent rally, the UK equity market remains attractively valued compared to most asset classes and will continue to rally over the course of 2011 driven by ongoing global recovery, and consequently, strong profits and dividend growth.
"There still remain a large number of attractive valuation opportunities at the individual stock level with earnings recovery potential linked not only to global economic sensitivity but also to M & A opportunities, management change and excessively negative perceptions of prospects for the UK economy and the consumer."
