Also, on the 12th and 13th of February, every female visitor will receive a red rose.

For those men who need some prompting, Bellway Homes has composed five helpful suggestions that will make your day more memorable:

• Remember to buy a bouquet of flowers;
• Offer to take the children out so that she can have time to pamper herself in peace and quiet;
• Book lunch at her favourite restaurant;
• Take a leisurely drive in the country perhaps ending up at a surprise destination for the evening.

For women, you might think of spoiling your man by:

• Arranging baby sitters so that you can both enjoy a special night out;
• Organise a golf day with his pals;
• Arrange for his car to be valeted
• Organise a romantic candle light dinner;
• Don’t complain when he wants to watch Match of the Day.
