A whole new sense of fun and freedom is available for residents looking to ‘rightsize’ to one of the 235 apartments at St George’s Park, an innovative new development in Ditchling, East Sussex for the over 60’s.

With an extensive array of social and leisure facilities, security features and 24 hour concierge, this development offers an exciting new way of life that can be easily adapted to suit resident’s changing needs, thereby safeguarding their future.

So far 174 people, including 60 singles and 57 couples of which 25% are under 70, have taken up residence at this country estate that is owned by the St Augustine Order. They are seizing the opportunity to ‘rightsize’ from a traditional family home as it no longer suits their needs, (requires too much maintenance, heating, cleaning or gardening) to a modern apartment that demands much less time and effort.

Residents at St George’s Park can have complete peace of mind. They can travel, knowing the round the clock leading edge CCTV monitoring system will help keep their home and possessions safe. They can have friends, family and grandchildren over to stay, either in their spacious apartment or take advantage of the guest suite which is available for an overnight fee. The apartments combine the best in traditional and contemporary style complete with limestone fireplaces, oak veneered doors, integrated appliances and broadband.

In addition, residents can enjoy an active social life by getting involved with the Resident’s Association, who organise table tennis, snooker, line dancing, short tennis, croquet and short mat bowls to name a few! They can also use the gymnasium, restaurant, café bar, hairdressers, convenience shop, games room and library that are located in the spacious and well used community centre, Maes Court. This centre also includes a multi-purpose function room and a treatment room that provides excellent amenities for visiting therapists.

To ensure the current and future needs of all residents are catered for, this development also includes an extensive range of additional services. The 24 hour concierge organises a low cost pool car service for residents who no longer need their own vehicle and a mini bus service that provides transport to the local towns. The management team is also on hand to help organise domestic housekeeping, cleaning and other professional services that are available in the residents’ own homes.

The original concert hall, with its ornate ceiling, is also available to residents and makes an ideal place for special occasions, communal gatherings and other events including plays, guest speakers, film nights or concerts.

For residents that prefer the outdoors, there is a well-stocked lake for fishing, a footpath network across the 250 acres of grounds, woodland and lakes, and even an allotment club. If all that wasn’t enough to keep the most active senior citizen busy, a swimming pool and spa, tennis court and a bowling green will be made available in future phases of the development.

The development is also superbly located for the beautiful countryside of the South Downs, a mix of rural villages and towns including Brighton, which all have numerous places to explore, shop and restaurants to try. There is also horse racing at both Brighton and Lingfield racecourses, and further afield Goodwood, which is also a venue for motor racing and other internationally acclaimed events.

St George’s Park is within 3 miles of Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill both of which offer good local shopping including major supermarkets and excellent rail links to Brighton, Gatwick Airport and London Victoria.

Prices for currently available properties at St Georges Park start at £345,000 for a two bedroom apartment. For further information, visit: stgeorgespark.co.uk
