Mount Haven Hotel – Cornwall’s hidden gem

The Mount Haven Hotel & Restaurant in Marazion, Cornwall has been named as one of the top nine secret hotels in the world by travel website budgettravel.com
The only hotel in the UK to appear in the list, Mount Haven Hotel & Restaurant features alongside hotels from Jamaica, Italy and the French Riviera, amongst others.
Each year, Budget Travel scouts out undiscovered hotels in popular destinations and selects what they deem to be the best. The hotels picked out all boast something special and cost less than $210 (£132) a night.
Commenting on the news, hotel proprietor Mike Trevillion said, “We are of course delighted to be featured in this list. To be classed as one of the top nine secret hotels in the world, and the only one featured in the UK, is quite an accolade.
The Mount Haven Hotel looks out across Mount’s Bay and St Michaels Mount in the picturesque ancient market town of Marazion, just outside Penzance in West Cornwall.
Mike continued, “Although we don’t think of Mount Haven as a ‘secret hotel’ we do like to think of ourselves as a hidden gem. We pride ourselves on the quality of service we provide to our guests and we are very lucky to be located in such a beautiful part of the world.”
The hotel is currently offering their guests the chance to beat record breaking hikes at the petrol pumps by paying the cost of their guests’ fuel for the journey down to the hotel.
The offer will run for the whole of February (2011) and will be available to anyone booking a stay of two or more nights from now until the end of February. Guests wishing to receive a refund for their fuel should provide a receipt for the fuel upon check-in to receive a deduction from the cost of their stay.
