Simply Ford day at Beaulieu

1st February 2011 Print
Simply Ford

If you missed the first Simply Ford day in 2010, make sure you come to this year’s Simply Ford gathering on Sunday 1st May 2011. Held in the grounds of the National Motor Museum, it promises to be a great day out, with all Ford owners invited to come to Beaulieu in their vehicle and become part of the event. Any model is welcome, from the new Focus RS to the old MK 1 or 2 Escort RS or even a Model T!

The Ford Motor Company will be displaying the Ford Heritage Collection Roadshow celebrating 100 years of Ford in Britain with a number of Ford vehicles including a Model T from the early 1900s, a 1940s/50s Prefect, a Cortina Mk lll from the 1970s, right up to the present with a Focus RS.

Also on display will be the Ford Supervan 3.  Built on a Ford C100 race car chassis and originally powered by a mid-mounted Ford-Cosworth 650bhp ‘HB’ F1 engine, Supervan 3 first saw the light of day in 1995 when it was displayed at the motor show in Birmingham.  Its top speed is estimated at around 150mph, with acceleration that would not disgrace many sports supercars.

There will be a cavalcade and display on the Main Arena of 20 cars chosen from all rally entrants.  One of these selected cars will be the winner of the Pride of Ownership competition with £100 cash prize and a Beaulieu trophy.

For entrants arriving on the day in their Ford and joining the event on the Beaulieu Parkland, entry prices are adult £10 and child £5. To book in advance or for more information about group or club entry, telephone 01590 612888. All other entries will be via Beaulieu main reception at normal admission prices. For all enquires on Ford related trade stands, telephone 01590 614614.

Entry into the Beaulieu Parkland with your Ford is from 8.30am – the Brabazon Restaurant will be open for bacon rolls, cakes, teas and coffees.

Admission to the event includes entry to the whole Beaulieu attraction; the National Motor Museum and its latest exhibition, Feats of Endurance, World of Top Gear, Palace House and gardens and Beaulieu Abbey.
