Sales success at Ferryfields a positive sign for property market

2nd February 2011 Print

Miller Homes’ is celebrating a strong start to the New Year at Ferryfields in Dundee, with the announcement that more than three quarters of the homes at the development are now sold.

Interest in the high quality three, four and five bedroom properties at Ferryfields soared towards the end of 2010, providing a positive sign for the Scottish property market and indicating that buyer confidence across the region is continuing to grow.

Situated on Arbroath Road in Dundee, Ferryfields has proven to be a big hit with purchasers attracted by an extensive choice of stylish new homes in a prime location. Miller Homes’ range of buyer incentives and assistance schemes, backed up by a commitment to first class customer service, has also been key in securing the development’s success.

Anne Marie Britton, Miller Homes’ regional sales director for Scotland East, explained: “Despite the challenges of the economic climate, Ferryfields quickly became established as a popular new homes development. It is clear that buyers recognise Ferryfields’ potential as a desirable new residential address and as such, there is a real buzz around this development and we consistently receive a high level of interest from prospective purchasers.

“We have had enquiries from both existing Dundee residents and people wanting to move into this much sought-after area. Thanks to the development’s close links to the Kingsway, residents can enjoy all the benefits of living in a beautifully landscaped neighbourhood, while being just a short journey from a prosperous and thriving city.”

The range of stunning family homes available at Ferryfields includes a portfolio of four-bedroom designs such as The Calder and Conrad which offer buyers all the extra room needed to accommodate a growing family.

Priced from £219,000, the four-bedroom Calder features a spacious, high specification kitchen complete with stylish archway, which leads through into a family room – ideal for entertaining both family and friends. The property also benefits from a downstairs cloakroom, en-suite master bedroom and separate bathroom, as well as a utility room.

The four-bedroom Conrad’s attractive facade will immediately impress any prospective buyers, with its pillared entrance canopy and ornamental iron brackets. Priced from £249,995, the home also features double doors between the dining-room and the lounge, which allows buyers to create a single space running from the bay window to the French doors. The gallery landing is also a highlight, while the two en-suite shower rooms mean morning queues will be a thing of the past.

According to Anne Marie, there are still plenty of opportunities for savvy buyers at Ferryfields. “With a choice of three, four and five bedroom homes available, there is still time for Dundee homebuyers to be part of the Ferryfields success story. And now is a great time for buyers to speak to Miller Homes, as we have recently launched a national campaign which sets out to ‘fix it’ for potential purchasers who need a helping hand to get them moving.

“The campaign highlights the tailored incentives and assistance schemes available for eligible purchasers on selected plots. And for those who reserve a new home before 20th February, Miller Homes will also throw in an additional £500 in Marks & Spencer vouchers and £500 towards your utility bills – it’s our way of saying welcome to your new home.”

Miller Homes’ unique Home Exchange scheme, MiSwap* is designed to help buyers who are struggling to sell their existing home. Unlike other part exchange schemes in the market, buyers can trade up or down the ladder, swapping their existing home with a new Miller home - even if there is no difference between the value of the two

Miller Homes’ very own shared equity scheme, MiWay*, is also available on selected plots throughout the Ferryfields development. Those who take advantage of MiWay need only arrange a mortgage for 75 per cent of the property’s purchase price, as up to 25 per cent is covered by Miller Homes with a loan. MiWay offers first time buyers the chance to own 100 per cent of their home and there is nothing to repay for up to 10 years.

Prices at Ferryfields currently start from £169,500 for a three bed terrace. For more information visit millerhomes.co.uk or visit the sales office, which is open daily between 11am and 6pm.
