Paul and Wendy Payton have followed the example of their son by purchasing a brand new home at Taylor Wimpey’s The Grange development of houses for sale in Hailsham, East Sussex.

When Paul Payton’s son upped sticks and moved to The Grange, Taylor Wimpey’s sought-after development of property for sale in Hailsham, Paul and his wife liked it so much they decided to follow suit.

Paul’s son moved to a new home at the Hailsham property development with his wife and two children in July, to enjoy a better quality of life than in their former home in Carshalton, Surrey.

And, after paying several visits to their son’s new property in Hailsham, Paul and his wife Wendy also fell in love with the area – and decided to buy at the development too.

“As soon as we saw our son’s new house at The Grange, we knew we wanted to live there too,” explains Paul, reflecting on his first look at the development of new houses to buy in Hailsham. “Of course, it’s great to have the family on our doorstep, but we wouldn’t have moved if we weren’t keen on the development and the location.

“It’s such a nice place to live. The quiet, edge-of-town location means you have a much better quality of life. Plus, we are getting much more for our money than we would have done in Surrey.

“We knew that if we stayed in our old house, we would have had to spend money on it, so it made more sense for us to choose somewhere brand new in a nicer area.”

With their old house in Carshalton to sell, Paul and Wendy took advantage of Taylor Wimpey’s easymover scheme, which sees the housebuilder find a buyer for their property and pay the estate agency fees.

“It was brilliant,” says Paul. “When we’d tried to sell our home previously, the buyer pulled out on the day we were due to exchange contracts. Taylor Wimpey stepped in and within two weeks we had another buyer. We were kept informed of what was happening throughout the process, and we never had any worries at all.”

Paul (60), who works in Toyota’s press and public relations department in Redhill, and Wendy (52), a Business Executive of Sales for Nestlé in Croydon, moved into their new two-bedroom end-terraced ‘Violet’ house just before Christmas.

“Having our family just around the corner is really nice,” adds Paul. “They’ve been really happy since they moved, and the local primary school in Hellingly is just half a mile away, and is a proper village school. It’s reassuring to know our grandchildren, will be educated in such a safe, lovely place.

“Plus, The Grange is also only eight miles from Eastbourne, and near to Hastings, Pevensey and of course, Brighton, which is great for shopping and entertainment. You can just hop on a train in Hailsham and be there very quickly. In terms of location, it’s ideal.”

A good selection of three and four-bedroom houses is currently available at The Grange, with prices ranging from just £194,995 to £304,995.

Further information is available from the Sales and Marketing Suite, located at Lundy Walk, off Hempstead Lane, Hailsham, and open daily between 10.30am and 5.30pm.
