Redrow connects home buyers to the digital world
Award-winning housebuilder Redrow continues to embrace new technology in the bid to improve customer service and access to information.
Redrow is now employing ‘Microsoft Tag’ on advertisements, literature and signage so that prospective customers can get straight to the on-line information they need.
Kim Peters, sales and marketing director for Redrow, said: “We’re starting to incorporate Microsoft Tag into much of our marketing material All the customer needs to do is download the free ‘Tag reader’ application to their mobile phone; they can then use it to read the 2D barcodes that appear in our advertisements and it will instantly load the appropriate page of our website for everything they need to know about the development and our homes.
“As far as we know we’re the first UK housebuilder to use this technology so extensively.”
The service works with most popular mobile devices and with most platforms, including Windows Phone 7, Windows Mobile, iPhone and Blackberry. Consumers can visit http://gettag.mobi in their mobile phone browser to get the Tag reader.
Introduction of Microsoft Tag to Redrow advertisements is the latest in a series of innovations. Late last year, the company’s broadband television channel, Redrow.TV, won ‘Best Marketing Initiative’ at the national Housebuilder Awards for innovation and excellence.
Over 200,000 films have been viewed on Redrow.TV in less than 12 months and it allows prospective customers to see film footage of developments, homes and locations – as well as weekly news updates – from wherever they access the internet.
