Tower Bridge confirmed its reputation as London’s most romantic location with no less than 15 proposals of marriage at this year’s Valentine’s Day special evening event for couples.

The event hosted by Walkways’ food and events management company Seasoned Events held in the spectacular high level Walkways on 14 February was once again a sell-out with 1600 tickets sold for an evening of pink champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries, live mood music, rosy lighting and sweeping views of the twinkling London skyline.

“We are thrilled that so many couples chose their visit to Tower Bridge as the occasion for making one of the biggest decisions of their lives,” said Tower Bridge senior marketing executive Chris Earlie. “The stunning views over the city from the Walkways are unique in London and the scale of the structure is so impressive it clearly inspires both love and courage!”

Already naming the day is James McWilliam and Sally Quinn who were the lucky winners of the prize draw for free wedding venue hire at Tower Bridge, open to those couples who popped the question on the night.

James (37) and Sally (31), who live in Southwark and work in the fields of financial services and architecture respectively, have decided there’s no time like the present and are now arranging their Walkways wedding reception for March 12 after a marriage ceremony at Chelsea Register Office.

Tower Bridge is the perfect setting for wedding and civil partnership ceremonies and receptions, both extravagant and intimate, with a range of flexible spaces and packages. See the websites for full details - towerbridge.org.uk and seasonedevents.co.uk.

The Tower Bridge Walkways won the gold award as best small venue of the year (max 250 capacity) at the 2010 Eventia Awards.
