Stoneleigh Park hosts International MG Show

MG enthusiasts from all over the UK will descend on Warwickshire’s Stoneleigh Park on Sunday 20th February 2011 for the International MG Show and Spares Day. Sponsored by Heritage Insurance, the event brings owners, fans, clubs and spare part suppliers together for a one-day festival of all things MG.

MG stands for Morris Garages, which sold Morris cars in Oxford. Originally modifying Morris models, by the 1930s the company was manufacturing  the sports cars that would build the Abingdon-based company’s reputation.

From those earliest models through to the MGBs in the 1960s and ‘70s, and the TF of the 1990s into the new millennium, there’s something for every MG owner, enthusiast or would-be owner.

The International MG Show brings together clubs from all across the UK and they will be representing cars from all eras, whether immaculate, tidy or needing some attention!

But if you don’t have an MG and think this year’s the time to buy one, there will be plenty of examples for sale, from immaculate through to the worn-out and needing plenty of attention. Meanwhile, Pride of Ownership awards bring together some of the very best MGs of all ages.

And if you’re looking for that hard-to-find part, the autojumble and trade stands will have what you’re looking for – from a dashboard switch through to a complete bodyshell. Alongside those parts will be tools, books and models, all showing just how loved the MG name is, getting on for a century after it was founded.

The International MG Show takes place on 20 February. Entry is £12 on the day (£10 for OAPs) and under 16s are free when accompanied by an adult.Car parking is free. To book tickets, visit mg-show.co.uk.
