Award-winning housebuilder, Bellway Homes has unveiled the impeccably crafted Rothesay and Elgin showhomes at The Potteries, Kilmarnock, each complete in a subtle kaleidoscope of colour that aptly showcases the appeal of both properties.

Fraser Conn, Sales and Marketing Director at Bellway Homes, says, “The Potteries represents our fourth showhome launch since the start of the year. We deliberately wanted to create very different interiors with the Rothesay and the Elgin to demonstrate the diverse design elements and layouts of our properties to potential buyers.

“The Potteries has a lot to offer in terms of the choice of homes available and the competitive pricing of these. We also have a range of tailored incentives that are aimed at supporting buyers whatever their circumstances are – whether they are trying to sell an existing home or wanting to secure their first property.”

On entering the lounge of the three-bedroom semi-detached Rothesay, viewers will be immediately struck by the space on offer. The well proportioned lounge features an L-shaped white sofa that has been injected with blocks of colour from the ’tutti-frutti’ collection of scatter cushions in purple, lime green, crimson and tangerine.

Red is the accent colour in the lounge and throughout the rest of the property. Vibrant red wallpaper with silver inflections adorns the main feature wall. A contemporary scarlet armchair is perfect for curling up to watch the plasma screen TV and the red border along the top edge of the white curtains draws the eye to the window and the amount of natural light that floods in through it. A glossy white side board, with matching retro coffee table, completes the look, fashioning a room that combines comfort with cutting edge style.

Without doubt, the characteristic of the kitchen that is sure to captivate potential buyers is not the modern oval-shaped white dining table complete with scarlet chairs, or the beech fitted units and integrated brushed steel appliances, but the dramatic red amtico flooring.

On the upper floor, three good-sized bedrooms with very different interiors continue the ‘wow-factor’ tour. The en-suite master bedroom is a blank canvas in terms of the crisp white walls and bed linen, and soft silver throw. The rich plum and deep red scatter cushions on the bed add warmth, as does the ruby velvet head board, complete with integral mirror. At either side of the bed large banner sized strips of wallpaper, complete with a red motif, hang like contemporary works art.

In the second and third bedrooms the colour palette shifts. Bedroom three has a striking feature wall complete with two solids blocks of colour in amethyst and lime green. The freshness of the white Egyptian cotton bedcovers and remaining three white walls are further heighted by the jade satin headboard and curtains. The second bedroom is much more playful and has been designed with young children in mind. The bedspread features tropical leafs and multi-coloured parrots, matched by the exact same pattern of wallpaper on the main wall. A large banana leaf canopy hangs over the bed from behind a russet corduroy headboard.

In contrast to the vibrant colours of the Rothesay, the three-bedroom Elgin is a study in symmetry. The elegant white furniture pieces in the lounge, matched by sumptuous sofas, are harmonised by the earthy tones of grey, green and hemp in the soft furnishings, striped wallpaper and cushions. Adjoining the lounge is the dining area, with its large dining table that comfortably seats eight. The overall effect in the lounge is a serene interior, which sets the benchmark for the rest of the house.

In the kitchen, glossy white units, stainless steel appliances and champagne coloured tiled flooring complement the reserved use of colour, which suggests tropical fruits have had an influence as they include a lemon feature wall, lime coffee cups and a kiwi coloured kettle.

On the upper level of the Elgin, soothing shades of grey, olive, white and silver in the carpets and furniture are the perfect collaboration with the ebony and mint bedcover in the en-suite master bedroom, soft mustard tones of the curtains and cushions in the second bedroom and khaki animal print duvet in the third bedroom.

Apart from the creativity that has gone in to both showhomes, Bellway has also crafted a number of incentives to help buyers. Each initiative provides a different support option including ‘Part Exchange’, ‘Express Mover’, ‘5% Deposit Paid’, ‘Double Deposit’, ‘Armed Forces Discount’ and the company’s popular shared equity scheme – ‘Sharp Start’.

Located off Southhook Road, The Potteries offers a collection of three-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached homes as well as four-bedroom detached properties, with prices currently released from just £110,995.

The Potteries has the dual appeal of being close to the centre of Kilmarnock and the neighbouring Ayrshire coast, whilst the M77 offers excellent access to Glasgow city centre and the commuter belt. With its proximity to the town centre, buyers can take advantage of the many shopping and leisure facilities on offer including the Galleon Leisure Centre and The Garage Entertainment Centre.
