House hunters snap up new homes in Telford
People in Telford have discovered the easy way to buy a home with help from Crest Nicholson.
Thanks to Crest’s EasyBuy Scheme customers have the chance to own 100% of a new property at Lightmoor Green but pay just 85% now. It’s an opportunity that’s helped many first time buyers step onto the property ladder; while others have found it’s enabled them to buy a larger home than they would otherwise be able to afford.
Amanda Benjamin, sales manager for Crest Nicholson, commented: “We’re continuing to receive a steady number of enquiries from people who are keen to buy a new home and on average have sold one home a week at Lightmoor Green since the start of the year. EasyBuy was utilised in three of the last five sales, which indicates just how useful this incentive is to our customers.”
Unlike shared ownership schemes, EasyBuy, customers will own 100 per cent of their home from day one. They pay no rent or interest on the outstanding 15 per cent for the first five years and only a nominal amount of interest thereafter.
The loan is paid back as 15 per cent of the property’s open market value at any time up to resale or after 10 years, whichever is sooner.
The incentive is available on selected properties at Lightmoor Green, including the three-bedroom Kennet. On the market at £155,950, the Kennet can be purchased for an initial outlay of £132,558 with EasyBuy.
“EasyBuy helps stretch your budget and perhaps buy a bigger home than you would otherwise be able to afford. It’s also great for first time buyers as it reduces the amount of deposit they would need from an average of more than 20% of the price* to just 5%,” Amanda explained.
“The Kennet is a great choice for those who perhaps bought an apartment and now want to make that crucial second step on the property ladder to somewhere more suited to family living. On the ground floor, both the combined kitchen and dining room and the separate lounge have French doors leading to the garden and offering lots of natural light; while upstairs the master bedroom benefits from an en suite.”
Telford provides excellent transport links throughout the country via the M54 and rail services to Birmingham and the other West Midlands cities.
The development, in Wellington Lane, off Woodlands Lane, offers a complementary blend of the countryside with all the benefits of a busy town close by, with shopping, a cinema, golf course and ice rink.
