Buyers delighted with new property in Dovercourt

Nick and Bev Shephard couldn’t be happier at Taylor Wimpey’s Peninsula development of houses for sale in Dovercourt after leaving London behind for their new property in Essex.
When Nick and Bev Shephard swapped north London for life on the Essex coast at Taylor Wimpey’s Peninsula development of new homes in Dovercourt, they didn’t just experience a rise in their quality of life.
The couple also found the quality of their brand new Taylor Wimpey home blew away the competition in the Dovercourt property market.
Nick and Bev (both 51) had wanted to leave their Enfield home for a new life by the sea, and with son Rob living in Harwich, the Shephards’ attention turned to the Essex properties available in nearby small seaside town of Dovercourt.
After viewing a succession of older houses in Dovercourt, they found their dream home at Taylor Wimpey’s Peninsula development, snapping up a four-bedroom ‘Salisbury’ townhouse for just £169,995.
Nick says: “We were pretty underwhelmed by the older houses we looked at, and most needed work doing to them. But, after visiting Peninsula, we found we could have a much bigger and better house for the same price as many second-hand properties in Dovercourt.
“The rooms are an excellent size, and because our house is brand new, it needs nothing doing to it. It’s just an absolutely amazing home, and we are so happy we found it.
“Friends and family who have visited are just gobsmacked by how much house you can get for your money at Peninsula, and we’re finding we are very popular with people wanting to come over and stay for a weekend!”
After the hustle and bustle of London living, postman Nick and housewife Bev are now making the most of the Great Outdoors on their new doorstep.
“We really enjoy walking, and now we can just put our coats on and within 10 minutes we can be strolling along the sea front, it’s just wonderful,” says Nick.
“There’s also a lovely coastal road to Manningtree to explore, and we have the luxury of a wonderful view of the estuary from home.”
Peninsula’s proximity to other centres is also a big draw for the Shephards, as Nick explains: “We aren’t far from Colchester and Clacton, both of which are good for shopping, while Ipswich is about 30 minutes’ drive away. And, if we need to get back to London quickly, it takes us 90 minutes by car, which isn’t bad at all.”
The whole Taylor Wimpey housebuying experience was also a pleasure for Nick and Bev.
“Moves are supposed to be stressful, but ours was anything but,” said Nick.
“We were kept informed of everything that was happening during the buying process by Sam, the Sales Executive. We were even able to visit the house whenever we wanted as the build progressed.
“Since moving in, we have had one or two minor issues to sort out, and the Site Manager Dave Hawkins has bent over backwards to address them.
“In fact, if I had to move again, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose another Taylor Wimpey home. The care and attention they have paid us has been outstanding.”
A stunning selection of homes are available to buy now at Peninsula, including three-bedroom houses priced from as little as £140,000 and four-bedroom townhouses from only £174,995.
