Huge demand for Mercedes-Benz Service Care plans

8th March 2011 Print

Hassle-free, easy-to-budget and inflation-proof servicing is proving extremely popular for Mercedes-Benz owners following the announcement by the manufacturer of the sale of more than 16,000 Service Care plans in less than 10 months.

Launched last March and available from all Mercedes-Benz Retailers and Official Workshops, the Plans provide owners with the ultimate peace-of-mind that all of their future servicing requirements are taken care of affordably and conveniently by an authorised Mercedes-Benz outlet for as little as £19.99 per month for a smart and £23 per month for an A-Class.

Customers can take out Service Care when they buy a new or Approved Used Mercedes-Benz or smart and the scheme is also available to existing owners with cars up to seven years of age. In addition to its value-for-money, the simplicity and flexibility of the programme has added to its appeal as customers can tailor their plan to their own requirements – purchasing two, three or four services over a one-, two-, three- or four-year period.

And there are no worries about unexpected future servicing bills as they can opt to take care of the costs up front via a single payment, or pay monthly by direct debit as they would their other household bills. The first option also enables the plan to be transferred to the new owner if the vehicle is sold.

Service Care covers labour, parts and oil costs as well as manufacturer-recommended service items, such as brake fluid, spark plugs and filters, and protects customers from any future inflationary price rises. Every Mercedes-Benz is now incorporated in the scheme following the recent addition of S-Class, SL-Class, CL-Class, GL-Class and R-Class models to the scheme.

“Service Care makes life as easy and affordable as possible for customers when it comes to the maintenance of their cars,” said Simon Oldfield, Managing Director, Customer Services. “It really is servicing made simple particularly with a model range based pricing structure which means that customers will pay the same whether, for example, they own a four-year-old E-Class Saloon or drive a six-month-old E-Class Cabriolet.

“With Service Care now available on the smart range and every model from the A-Class to SL-Class, and the ability for customers to sign-up at the time of their service, we hope that the plans will appeal to even more owners seeking the reassurance of having their cars looked after by a Mercedes-Benz Official Workshop and its expert technicians.”
