Amongst motorists considering an in-car audio upgrade, greatest importance of all is placed on connectivity, which is why Clarion – the world’s largest manufacturer of in-car audio, multimedia and satellite navigation solutions – has introduced the CZ201E into it’s 2011 line-up.

Catering for those who just love to listen to their music on the move, the all-new CZ201E is built around the ‘must-have’ for audio fans, direct iPod/iPhone and USB connectivity and playback, and in-line with Clarion’s new 2011 line-up of fresh-faced audio units, represents excellent value for money, without the lengthy learning curve.

Direct iPod/iPhone playback and control is attained by simply connecting the USB cable supplied with an iPod/iPhone to the rear USB dongle on the CZ201E.  Alternative mass storage devices are also supported, either via the same conveniently located interface or a 3.5mm mini jack auxiliary input located on the front fascia, enabling playback of both MP3 and WMA files.

CD playback, including CD-R/RW is accommodated through a single front facing CD slot, whilst the unit makes use of an RDS-EON tuner with 18 FM, 6MW/LW station presets.

The new unit also allows for the safe receiving and making of phone calls, with a Bluetooth enabled and paired mobile phone, through the optional addition of a BLT373 Bluetooth transceiver.

To ensure there’s no compromise on audio quality, the CZ201E boasts a mighty 4 x 45 watts output via an integral MOS-FET power amplifier, plus Magna BASS EX sound enhancement options to boost enjoyment and allow for greater customisation to suit individual taste, whilst 4-channel audio pre-outs allow for optional installation of additional speakers/amps/screens.

Indeed, with the inclusion of an optional USB video cable (CCA748) and stand-alone monitor (VMA773), owners of Apple’s mass-market media player can also watch video files.

Clarion’s star-burst style blue button illumination fascia is mirrored in the rotary volume control, as part of new H.M.I (Human Music Interface), designed to improve overall ease-of-use.

The Clarion CZ201E has a typical selling price of £129.00 and is available from all Clarion appointed specialists across the UK.  For more information, visit clarion.co.uk.
