Luxury self-catering company expands into Derbyshire

Luxury self-catering company, Sheepskin, has expanded its stylish collection into Derbyshire’s Peak District with the addition of a magnificent Music Mill that housed the first gramophone needle factory in the UK and sleeps six.

The company has also added a cosy cottage for four in Snowdonia giving it 10 properties in Wales as well as four in the West Country. A week’s stay in the Music Mill costs £1791 and a week at Tailor’s Cottage costs £1065 throughout 2011.

The Music Mill is located deep in the Derbyshire hills close to a stream and to Hathersage village. Its exterior retains an industrial Victorian look as built by Tobias Child in 1820 but inside it combines high levels of comfort with a contemporary and decadent design.

The fantastic open plan living area offers a relaxing log burning stove and there is a fully equipped kitchen. The property has three individual and cosy double bedrooms, each equally appealing; the largest features an indulgent claw foot bath at the end of the bed with a view of the fields, the second sleeps three and the third is the cosiest hidden at the top of the wrought iron spiral staircase.  The originally styled bathroom incorporates a fantastic music system - perfect for that relaxing bath.

From the doorstep guests can explore the ridges of the Peak District, such as Stanage Edge, and enjoy wholesome meals at The George or Coleman’s deli in the village just a few hundred metres away.

As the name suggests Tailor’s Cottage near Betws y Coed in Snowdonia was originally home to the local tailor. The property now offers the perfect mix of traditional features and urban style and is equipped with all the modern comforts and facilities. Escape here and spend days relaxing in front of a glowing fire in the log burner or use the cottage as a base for exploring the craggy hills and valleys of Snowdonia.

A modern yet cosy kitchen features under-floor heating, dishwasher and washing machine to make life easy.  Upstairs there are two wonderfully comfortable double bedrooms and a contemporary styled bathroom.

Guests can stock up on local produce at the Rhug farm shop or treat themselves to a wholesome meal at one of the great pubs and restaurants in Betws y Coed, just 8 miles away.
