Operators launch new Taiwan tours for 2011

Tailor-made specialist Regent Holidays and trekking and adventure specialist World Expeditions are the latest operators to introduce tours of Taiwan.
 
Regent Holidays has launched an 11-day ‘Highlights of Taiwan’ itinerary, priced from £1,265 per person excluding flights, adding a twist to the classic sights of Taiwan with a trip to the Kinmen Islands  - an isolated Taiwanese outpost just a few miles off the coast of China, with accommodation in traditional brick Kinmen houses.  Other highlights include touring in Taipei, Sun Moon Lake, an overnight stay in Taiwan’s largest Buddhist monastery at Foguangshan, the hot spring resort of Chihpen and the natural scenery of Taroko National Park. For adventurous travellers, World Expeditions has introduced a 10-day ‘Hike And Bike Taiwan’, priced from £1,790 per person excluding flights.  Departing 19 October 2011, this itinerary focuses on Taiwan’s natural attractions  - participants will hike through spectacular Taroko Gorge, cycle along the dramatic cliffs of the east coast, cross soaring suspension bridges as they hike the Walami Trail, and enjoy the hot springs of Zhiben.  The itinerary begins in Taipei and concludes in Kaohsiung.
