South East’s best Easter egg hunts

On the hunt for some Easter Fun? Some of the South East’s best egg hunts are taking place in museums  -  with the treasure turning up in some unlikely places!
 
12th-19th April: The Museum of English Rural Life Bunny Trail, Reading (Berkshire)
The Museum of English Rural Life is dedicated to the spirit of the English countryside and its people, offering a collection of objects, books and archives relating to the history of food, farming and the countryside. The museum will be holding an Easter Bunny Trail, offering families the chance to explore the museum and search for some very special Easter egg prizes. 14th -21st April: Easter Eggs at The Submarine Museum, Gosport  (Hampshire)
Hop along to the Submarine Museum where spring is in the air and new this year, they will be hosting ‘Crack the Code’ trails for only the most intrepid reporters. Visitors will also have a chance to design and create their very own ‘Octopus’s Garden’ on a plate! Activities are free with entry to the museum, which costs from £9 per adult and £6.30 per child. 24th April: Easter Chick Hunt, Oxford Bus Museum (Oxfordshire)
Keep the whole family happy with a trip to the Oxford Bus and Morris Museum; there will be an Easter Chick trail through the Museum, with an Easter egg prize for children, as well as free vintage bus rides for all. 11th-23rd April: ‘EGG’hausted of Chocolate? Littlehampton Museum (East Sussex)
If you are tired of the chocs, or just watching your weight, why not take part in fossil hunting this Easter holidays at Littlehampton Museum of Natural Science and Archaeology? Come along to the Museum to learn all about fossils, and join the organised fossil hunts on Littlehampton beach. Booking is essential and it’s free to visit. 24th -25th April: Easter at Scotney Castle (Kent)
Arguably one of the most picturesque National Trust properties in England, Easter at Scotney Castle is set to be a truly splendid affair. Not only will there be an Easter egg trail through the stunning gardens, but there will also be Victorian Fairground rides, cracking craft activities and face painting too. 7th April: Egg Hunt with a Twist, Newtown Old Town Hall (Isle of Wight)
Newtown Old Town Hall will be home to ‘Wildzone for Children’ this Easter, which will be offering all sorts of activities and events for families; from meeting the local sheep to hunting for real eggs as they are laid by gulls in Newtown. All activities are designed to introduce different aspects of wildlife and nature to the children and entry is free of charge. For more information visit: nationaltrust.org.uk 
 
8th April: Easter Extravaganza Haslemere Educational Museum (Surrey)
Haslemere Educational Museum offers a hands-on approach to learning, with a number of different exhibitions focusing on natural history and human history at one time. 20th April: Hardcore Hunting at Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre (West Sussex)

Hughenden's Easter Egg Trail with Cadbury, Hughenden’s Manor (Buckinghamshire)
Once home to Benjamin Disraeli, Hughenden’s Manor is a country hideaway with many secrets to discover and stories to tell. Explore the German forest, relax in the elegant gardens and most importantly forage for Easter eggs on their trail, which is full of treats from Cadbury.
