As more than a million visitors elbow their way through the resident London throng for a glimpse of the Royal Wedding on April 29 - an equally merry but much more comfortable group of patriots will be celebrating the nuptials of William and Kate deep in the Duchy of Cornwall.

While some Royal spectators spend the night on a Pall Mall pavement with a sleeping bag for comfort, guests of the multi award winning Budock Vean hotel will rise on Friday April 29 from fine cotton sheets to breakfast regally on the best of locally-sourced Cornish produce.

With posh frocks and hats at the ready they can plan a spot of croquet, a stroll through the stunning gardens to the Helford River or a round of golf around settling into a quintessentially British Royal garden party complete with string quartet, cucumber sandwiches, cream teas - and, of course, champagne and big screens to enjoy a full, unobstructed view of the day's events in the capital.

"We can't all be in London but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the big day in style," said Martin Barlow, whose family has owned the Budock Vean for more than twenty years. "So we aim to combine the fun and the atmosphere of a street party with all the creature comforts we offer here."

"Many of our guests and their families have been coming here for decades, sometimes two or three times a year. So it's natural for them to want to enjoy a national celebration together with familiar faces and a warm welcome - not to mention our top facilities and fantastic food and drink."

Guests can look forward to a long weekend of feasting fit for a king, a croquet competition, boat-trips on the Helford and a Royal Quiz - along with prizes for best Royal Hats and Ties. But amid all the merry-making there will be ample opportunity to escape into the calm and tranquillity for which the hotel and its beautiful surroundings are famous.

"We aim to make our guests feel like royalty as they celebrate this happy event," said Martin, "and that's probably not how most people are going to be feeling squashed among the crowds in London!"

The multi award winning Budock Vean Hotel is a family run, luxury four star hotel with outstanding leisure facilities include a spectacular indoor swimming pool with log fire, sauna, outdoor hot tub, natural health spa, 9-hole golf course, tennis courts, private foreshore and award winning restaurant with Cornish seafood specialities.
