Island hopping and walking in Croatia

25th March 2011 Print

Walking holidays company Walks Worldwide has an eight-day, self-guided itinerary to Croatia entitled Dubrovnik & Marco Polo Island.

The island of Korcula claims to be the birthplace of the explorer Marco Polo (hotly disputed by the Venetians) and with its coves, beaches, cliffs, forested hills, traditional villages, olive groves and vineyards is certainly worthy of exploration in its own right.

Also on the itinerary is medieval Dubrovnik, the iconic coastal city of Dalmatia and a spot of island hopping over to Sipan. The waterfront community of Cavtat then provides the perfect base to explore the delights of the Konavle countryside with the option of time on the beach.

The walking holiday can start any day from April to June and costs from £595 pp which includes transfers, most meals, 7 nights’ accommodation, route notes and maps.
