Taylor Wimpey in Corstorphine raises funds for breast cancer

Last October, Taylor Wimpey at Pinkhill in Corstorphine, in Edinburgh encouraged everyone to wear it pink, for research charity Breast Cancer Campaign’s annual event.

The company donated £25* per visitor to the show apartment at its Pinkhill development, Pinkhill Park in Corstorphine during the campaign last year, and the site management team also donned ‘pink hard-hats’ in a show of support for the event. In total the company was delighted to donate £1,000 to the charity.

Crucially this money has been allocated to a Breast Cancer Campaign within the University of Edinburgh which will investigate the impact that giving an additional, targeted booster dose of radiotherapy has on preventing Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) from returning, developing into breast cancer, as well as its effect on breast appearance and quality of life.

It’s great to hear this money will be put to good use locally as Karen Armstrong, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland explains: “Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer and one woman in nine will be affected by it during her lifetime in the United Kingdom. I’m delighted to learn that our donation has been allocated to a project within the University of Edinburgh lead by Professor Ian Kunkler and Dr Williams.”
