Shakespeare Country is delighted to announce that Stratford-upon-Avon has been voted as a finalist in the 15th annual Group Travel Awards in the ‘Most Group Friendly UK Destination’ category.

The awards are regarded by the travel trade as the most prestigious event in the travel trade calendar. Shakespeare’s hometown will find out if it has won the highly coveted award at a gala evening on Friday 10 June at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel in London.

The Group Travel Awards are decided by the readers of Group Travel Organiser magazine and have earned an enviable reputation as the most prestigious event serving the group travel market; they reflect a highly valued endorsement from customers in this most important market sector. Readers are asked to vote for who they think are the best suppliers in more than 20 categories. From the pre-visit information and transport to get the group there to where groups stay and what they visit when they get there, all aspects of putting together group trips are covered.

Tony Merrygold, Managing Director of Shakespeare Country stated “We are thrilled that Stratford-upon-Avon has been voted as a finalist in these highly coveted awards. Winning this award would be great accolade for the town and one that’s very much deserved. Shakespeare Country is no stranger to winning awards in The Group Travel Awards. Last year Warwick Castle scooped the award for Best Attraction for Group Visits: Long Visit”.
