Homebuyers in Bilston have been flocking to Chestnut Walk to view new Redrow homes.

In the first few days some 200 people visited the development to see inside the four-bedroom ‘Shrewsbury’ and three-bedroom ‘Warwick’ show homes.

Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), commented: “We knew from our database of potential purchasers that there was a strong demand for new homes in this part of the Black Country, but we were pleasantly surprised by just how many people came to view the properties over the opening weekend. One eager customer reserved a four-bedroom ‘Canterbury’ style property with double garage straight away and we are working with others who are keen to snap up one of these stunning new homes.”

Inspired by the architecture of the Arts and Crafts movement, the homes look traditional on the outside, but inside they are bright, modern and full of family friendly features.

“Echoing comments made in customer focus groups across the country, visitors to Chestnut Walk fell in love with the kitchens, which are both practical and stylish. They enjoy the convenience of integrated top brand name appliances, plus tall units and extra wide drawers that offer plenty of storage; while bathrooms and en-suites boast quality fixtures and fittings with an exclusive tile range,” Pauline explained.

“House hunters have been impressed by the high quality of our homes and pleasantly surprised at what we include as standard, as our specification unrivalled among most of our housebuilder peers and is generally streets ahead of what’s available on the second hand market.”

A three-bedroom ‘Warwick’ similar to the show home, is available from £179,995. Four-bedroom properties are available in a choice of styles, priced from £194,995.

Redrow has calculated that it could cost around £30,000 to bring an older, three-bedroom property up to the same standard of one of its new homes.

“Buying a new home means you don’t have to worry about finding the time or the money for expensive repairs or renovations. Instead you can relax and enjoy peace of mind, knowing that the property is covered by a 10-year ‘Buildmark’ warranty,” Pauline added.

“Well insulated with double glazing and central heating included as standard, new homes are also more energy efficient than their second hand counterparts, making them potentially cheaper to run.”

Located in the heart of the Black Country alongside the Birmingham Canal, Chestnut Walk is close to Bilston town centre. Bilston is on the Midland Metro tramline, which links Wolverhampton and Birmingham, while easy access to the M5 and M6 motorways makes it a great place for commuters to put down roots.
