American Express Gold Card offers more rewards
American Express is offering the opportunity to say ‘yes' to even more travel experiences, with a range of introductory offers for new Preferred Rewards Gold Card members, including 20,000 free Membership Rewards (MR) points and double points on all travel related spending.
From today new Card members will receive 20,000 bonus Membership Reward points, when they spend £1,000 on the Card in the first three months. That's enough for two return flights to selected European cities with British Airways or an upgrade to premium economy with Virgin Atlantic.
Card members will also have the opportunity of making their travel spending take them further by receiving double reward points on all travel related purchases for the lifetime of the Card, including flights, hotels, trains, cruises and car hire, as well as most purchases made abroad.
In addition, in the first year, Card members will receive double reward points on spending at major supermarkets and petrol stations and will be given the first three months of Card membership for free - a saving of £25.
Where points can be redeemed?
As standard, American Express Preferred Gold Charge Card holders are automatically enrolled into the American Express ‘Membership Rewards Programme' which means they can earn points every time they spend on their Card.

Ten of the world's major frequent flyer programmes including Alitalia, bmi, British Airways, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Virgin Atlantic.
Hotel stays at over 25,000 properties worldwide including Hilton, Radisson Edwardian and Sheraton.
Any rail travel with Eurostar.
Car rental with Europcar, Hertz and Sixt.
In addition MR points can be redeemed for a whole range of gifts and experiences from M&S vouchers to spa days, cases of fine wine or an iPod.
