Short breaks with Titan HiTours

Whilst the ‘Isle of Wight’ tops the choice for Titan HiTours clients for a UK short break, the escorted tours specialist, has updated its 2011 stand-alone brochure of the UK with three new tours to Durham, Bath and a combined tour of Lincolnshire & Rutland.

The programme offers a wide choice of well-planned escapes encompassing the quintessential elements of the British Isles from city breaks, island getaways, history and culture to classic countryside locations and all with the added advantage of an experienced Tour Manager plus the convenience of Titan HiTours' exclusive VIP Home Departure Service, which collects clients from (and returns them to) their own front door.

The selection of short breaks covers many of the UK's major highlights, with each destination being packaged together with transportation, accommodation and a range of excursions and experiences to ensure that customers get the most out of their shorter duration visits.

Culture vultures, for example, will enjoy the short breaks to such charming and historic cities as York, Harrogate, Chester and Derby.  For outdoor enthusiasts, there are country escapes to discover the outstanding natural beauty of the Cotswolds, Surrey Hills, Lake District and rural Oxfordshire.  Those looking to spread their wings a little further, however, might choose to visit the island outposts of Isle of Wight, Jersey or Ireland.  As well as incorporating all the main attractions of each particular town or area, the itineraries also contain plenty of time for personal exploration, shopping or simply to relax in the comfort of the hotel.

The first of the new tours concentrates on the northern city of Durham, which boasts a cathedral and castle (both UNESCO World Heritage Sites) that lend the city an intensely dramatic skyline.  Durham is also home to pleasant, winding lanes filled with interesting shops and markets - ideal for exploring at customers' own pace.  There’s a visit to the Bowes Museum and its wealth of treasures as well as the famous Beamish Museum.  Accommodation is at the four-star Ramside Hall Hotel, located just outside the city centre.  The four-night break costs from £615 per person (based on two sharing), with four departure dates in May, June, July and October 2011.

Moving southwards, Lincolnshire & Rutland, is a new tour that combines a visit to the cathedral city of Lincoln with the rural charms of Rutland, England's smallest county.  Accommodation here is at the four-star DeVere Belton Woods Hotel with a day-trip to Lincoln, the picturesque Barnsdale Gardens (home to 38 different gardens on an eight-acre site) and a leisurely sightseeing cruise on Rutland Water.  This four-night break also costs from £615 per person with three departure dates in 2011 (in June, July and September).

Bath is the third new addition to the programme.  This strikingly attractive city (famed for its Roman history and beautifully-preserved collection of grand, honey-coloured Georgian houses) contains so many architectural gems that the ancient city centre has been granted UNESCO World Heritage status.  Titan's short break takes in an audio guided tour of the Roman Baths and a visit to nearby Cheddar Gorge, a hidden beauty spot amongst the limestone scenery of the Mendip Hills.  There are a total of four possible departure dates for this short break (in May, June, July and October 2011), with prices from £615 per person.

Commenting on the UK Short Breaks programme, Marketing Director, Dan Whitehouse, said, “Our domestic short breaks are hugely popular with our regular customers looking to experience a short burst of Titan magic before their next major holiday with us.  As with all Titan HiTours holidays, value for money is guaranteed - and with the combination of quality itineraries, door-to-door transportation and 24-hour assistance from our experienced and knowledgeable Tour Managers, our Short Breaks customers can experience the best of British without a care in the world."
