Demand for family homes in Telford has grown following the opening of a new school.

Crest Nicholson has seen an increase in visitors to its Lightmoor Green development since the nearby Lightmoor Village Primary School opened in September. Parents are so keen to enrol their children at the school that all of the four-bedroom homes in the current phase have now been sold.

Amanda Benjamin, sales manager for Crest Nicholson, explained: “Good local amenities are important when choosing a new home and Lightmoor Village now has plenty to offer buyers. The latest phase of homes are just a short stroll away from the shops and village square; while the new school has been a welcome boost, attracting house hunters with young children. Demand for family homes in the area is high and while we have now sold all of the four-bedroom properties in the current phase there’s still a choice of three-bedroom house styles available.”

The three-bedroom Kennet is on the market from £157,500; while the larger Kensington house type is priced from £162,950.

With the help of Crest’s EasyBuy scheme, buyers could find that selected properties at Lightmoor Green are more affordable. The deferred payment scheme allows customers to own 100% of a new property from day one but pay just 85% now.

It means that the Kennet could be purchased for an initial outlay of only £133,875.

Unlike shared ownership schemes, EasyBuy, customers will own 100 per cent of their home from day one. They pay no rent or interest on the outstanding 15 per cent for the first five years and only a nominal amount of interest thereafter.

The loan is paid back as 15 per cent of the property’s open market value at any time up to resale or after 10 years, whichever is sooner.

“EasyBuy is a great way for first time buyers to step onto the property ladder or for families to stretch their budget and perhaps buy a larger house than they would otherwise be able to afford,” Amanda explained.

“Or if you have a home of your own to sell you may be able to trade it in as part payment for a brand new one. With Crest acting as a guaranteed cash buyer, part-exchange means there will be no complicated chain delays or agent fees to pay and you can stay in your existing property until your new home is ready to move into.”

Lightmoor Green is within easy reach of Telford town centre, with good commuter links across the Midlands via road and rail.

A Kennet style show home is open to view daily from 10am to 5pm.
