The Goodwood Vintage Fly-In

Aviators and aviation enthusiasts can carry on camping over the weekend of 7-8 May when the Goodwood Aerodrome holds an informal Vintage Fly-In event for pre-1966 aircraft.

This event has proven to be hugely popular in the past, and the famous West Sussex aerodrome is looking forward to welcoming everyone with a passion for aircraft of the golden pre-1966 era in May.  Participants and visitors will be able to mingle with like-minded enthusiasts and admire a superb collection of pre-1966 aircraft, whilst also staying over for a tempting barbeque, plus an overnight camp around the airfield itself.

Participants can fly in and join friends, colleagues and the Goodwood team overnight on Saturday 7 May to enjoy a tasty burger and a beer or two and talk vintage aviation.  Goodwood’s own ex-RAF World War II Harvard training aircraft will be on hand, as will a huge variety of other aircraft located at this atmospheric ex-Battle of Britain aerodrome.

By way of contrast to the pre-1966 aircraft, Goodwood’s fleet of five brand new Cessna 172S Skyhawks will also be on hand for pleasure flights and private hire.

Visitors to the Goodwood Vintage Fly-In don't have to own a vintage aircraft to enjoy the evening, and all aircraft may drop in to appreciate the splendid display of older flying machines on hand. Spectator entry is free of charge.

For those who prefer not to camp out under the stars, and/or wish to fly in on either Saturday or Sunday for a day of nostalgia, they will also be made very welcome to this informal fun event.  The Goodwood Hotel will also have rooms available for those that prefer their creature comforts to a night spent under canvas.
