Give your commute the boot with Park Plaza

7th April 2011 Print

Park Plaza County Hall is waging war on the stress of commuting into London – from fare hikes to delays and overcrowding – by launching a Sunday night commuter’s package.

In response to the news that commuter trains are so cramped that passengers are forced to seek help from chiropractors and physios (recent research shows train seats are so narrow that there is no room for passengers’ elbows!*), the South Bank hotel has launched a Sunday night package for just £109.

The package is the perfect start to the working week and includes:

- Sunday night accommodation in one of the hotel’s contemporary and spacious bedrooms
- A free in-room movie of choice
- Your choice of a leisurely breakfast in one of the hotel’s stylish restaurants or a breakfast box to go

“This package has been designed to help make weekends longer for commuters. Why cut the Sunday evening short with an early night or ruin it by dreading the rat race the next day when you can spend it doing something fun instead?” says Simon Mahon, General Manager of Park Plaza County Hall.

“Grab dinner, enjoy a drink, even catch an exhibition. London – and particularly the South Bank – is at its best on Sunday evening; it’s quieter and there are some great deals to be had.”

Park Plaza County Hall is a deluxe hotel minutes walk from Waterloo station at 1 Addington St, London SE1 7RY. The hotel boasts the stylish AA Rosette-winning Spectrum Bar and Restaurant, set within a 14-storey atrium, a relaxing spa and great views of the London Eye.

*A report commissioned by South West Trains on the ergonomics of its Class 450 carriage found that 59% of people cannot fit into the seats
