Leamington Spa gears up for a Royal weekend

This year’s ‘Leamington Live’ which takes place at the end of the month is gearing up to be a hugely exciting and entertaining event! The event will kick off with a live screening of the Royal Wedding from 10am - 6pm on the 29 April in the Royal Pump Room Gardens followed by a trio of family feature films in the afternoon.

On Saturday 30 April from 11am – 5pm visitors to the town can enjoy a fun filled day for all the family with live Fashion Shows featuring morning television celebrity stylist Mark Heyes, plus a Pamper Zone, Style Workshops, Live Music & Entertainment and an Art and Family Trail.

The live Fashion Show, hosted by Mark Heyes, will take place in Regent Court at 11:15am, 1.15pm and 3.15pm and will showcase the key trends for Spring/Summer from Leamington retailers including Tiger, Phase Eight, LK Bennett, Noa Noa, Driftwood, and Fabulous. The show promises to be an exciting event with high profile fashion models, renowned choreographer Andy Turner and Mark Heyes who will be talking through the latest trends.

On talking about the event, Mark said ‘Looking forward to meeting the Fashion Savvy crowds at Leamington Live – see you on Saturday 30 April!’ The events company ‘Fashion Live’ M.D Eunice Denny also said, “I am delighted to be producing this show for Leamington Live as Leamington is a great shopping destination to buy fashion. It has an excellent mix of both multiple and independent fashion and accessory stores.”

In addition House of Fraser will be hosting Summer Style Workshops demonstrating how to create instant wardrobe updates at 12:30pm and 2.00pm. Visitors can receive complimentary treatments in The Pamper Zone in the Upper Mall of the Royal Priors Shopping Centre. Health and beauty therapists including Neal’s Yard, Regis, Vogue, Clarins and The Body Shop will all be providing treatments such as alternative therapies, hair styling, hand massages and makeovers.

Local musicians from all genres will perform across the town entertaining visitors in The Music Zone. Ex Factor Boot Camp attendee ‘Lucy Marie Anderton’ and singer songwriter ‘Alex Warburton’ will take to the stage from 12pm – 12:45pm. Cute band ‘Battle Jam’ will perform chart hits from 2pm – 2:45pm whilst the crowds can enjoy some fantastic Jazz with the ‘Gary Lewis Jazz Band’ from 3:30pm – 4:15pm. At the same time, visitors can enjoy live music at the Prince of Wales in Warwick Street and be entertained by ‘Wolly’ in Satchwell Court, one of the funniest and talented performers around!

Visitors can wander around the Art Trail and take in a diverse selection of art and artists. Venues showcasing displays, exhibits, paintings, photographs and local art include Gallery 150, Warwick Gallery, Castle Galleries, Where I met and fell in Love gallery, HM Graphics, Warwick Studios Art Lounge, Sydna Jewellery, Julie Bourner Photography and Room 4. Another event highlight will be an Art & Craft Fair at Regent Grove showcasing contemporary and creative arts and crafts.

There’s plenty to entertain children with a special Family Trail featuring a variety of competitions and activities. Venues, including Lantern Corner, JoJo Maman Babe, Stone the Crows and Hawkins Bizarre will all be laying on special treats for children of all ages!

During the event visitors can also pick up their “Little Book of Offers” featuring lots of exclusive discounts, promotions and free give-aways across a wide range of products and services in the town.

The event, organised by BID Leamington, promises to be an even bigger and better success than last year. With an action packed programme and the excitement of watching the Royal Wedding, Leamington has so much for everyone to enjoy and best of all, it’s completely free to attend.
