Two stylish developments from Bellway Homes in Parkhead and Carntyne are offering Glasgow home-hunters exceptional value for money, with the regeneration activity surrounding 2014 Commonwealth Games set to boost the appeal of the city’s East End even further in months to come.

The ‘Pyrus’ development in Parkhead features a mix of one and two bedroom apartments and two and three bedroom terraced homes, with prices ranging from £76,995 to £117,995.

‘Eastfields’ in Carntyne offers one and two-bedroom apartments, comfortable two and three-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached homes as well as stylish three and four-bedroom townhouses. Prices range from £86,995 for a one-bedroom apartment to £169,995 for a three-bedroom detached home with integral garage.

Fraser Conn, Bellway’s Sales & Marketing Director, said: “The value on offer at Pyrus and Eastfields is practically unrivalled anywhere else in the UK. I’m sure that those currently renting property in Glasgow East End will be surprised to learn that their monthly outgoings could actually be reduced by buying a property from Bellway Homes.”

Fraser also pointed to the investment appeal of their East End developments: “Those looking to buy-to-let will tempted by the impressive average 5-7% yield available from the rental of Pyrus and Eastfields properties.* With the regeneration of Glasgow’s East End moving forward prior to the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the range of stylish homes available at Pyrus and Eastfields offer tremendous investment opportunities for landlords looking to add to their portfolio.”

Pyrus and Eastfields are situated just two miles east of the city centre, with a wealth of local shopping and leisure facilities within walking distance: from The Forge shopping mall to the world-famous Barras market, featuring a regular Farmers’ Market, selling everything from organic fruit to smoked salmon and ostrich meat.
With the Commonwealth Games coming to Glasgow in 2014, the surrounding areas are currently under development. The forthcoming National Indoor Sports Arena and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome will be one of the biggest indoor sports facilities of its type in Europe and will be located on a 10.5 hectare site in the East End of Glasgow, close to Celtic Park and the new Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village.

When it comes to style and culture and exciting nightlife, Glasgow offers a varied choice – with galleries and museums, an annual Film Festival and seemingly limitless restaurants, bistros and wine bars. There’s a thriving café culture too, whether your favourite spot is the Merchant Square, the Italian Centre or the Buchanan Galleries. Unwind at Tollcross Park Leisure Centre, home to the city’s only 50 metre swimming pool, with its split-level state-of-the-art gym, dance studio and luxurious health suite, sauna, spa and steam room as well as children’s’ play area. Or perhaps have a family picnic in nearby Alexandra Park.
For those heading out of town, the road links are excellent from Pyrus and Eastfields, with the A74 and M8 conveniently close. Glasgow Airport is less than 11 miles away to the west and Edinburgh only 35 miles way to the east.

The Sales Centre at Pyrus is open Thursday to Monday between 10am-5pm and at Eastfields the sales centre is open Friday to Monday between 10am-5pm and on a Thursday between 11:30am-7:30pm.

*Yield has been calculated as 12 months gross rent divided by the property selling price.
