Rough Guides launch first city apps

Rough Guides has announced the availability of the new Rough Guides London, Paris, New York and Rome city apps for the iPhone and iPod touch, the company's first city destination apps on the App Store.

Experience the city like a local with off-the-beaten-track recommendations as well as information on all the key sights and listings for hotels and restaurants across all budgets. The new Rough Guides city apps are packed full of inspiration from things not to miss and theme-based lists to a Lucky Dip feature which suggests ideas for your choice of activity - perfect if you’re feeling overwhelmed or just a little lazy.

The apps also include easy-to-use GPS mapping for city centres and map integration with iPhone. Plus, find what you want when you’re out and about with GPS coordinates for all museums, hotels, restaurants and shops.

As well as covering all you need during your stay, the apps allow you to do some serious pre-trip planning - bookmark your favourite attractions, share them with friends or use them to build a personal itinerary, so you can spend more time exploring once you‚re there.
