Royal Park has a silver lining in Gloucestershire

When the Gingell’s decided it was time to upsize from their two bedroom bungalow they certainly didn’t do it by half and instead did it in style, moving into an exquisite three storey, five bedroom house on Taylor Wimpey’s Royal Park development in Gloucestershire.
The move into their new home on 17th December was poignant, not least because of Christmas and the impending New Year, but because Mrs Gingell received the news that her breast cancer was in remission.
Angie Gingell said: “Less than one month after putting our house on the market I was diagnosed with breast cancer. We decided to go ahead with the move to take our mind off the prognosis and to give us all something to look forward to - and because we desperately needed the room. During the whole moving process I was having chemotherapy so wasn’t very well at all.”
Neil Gingell commented: “With Angie’s condition we needed the process to be as stress-free as possible and Taylor Wimpey made that happen. They were absolutely fantastic throughout the whole house-buying process - from the moment we walked into the sales office, greeted by friendly and helpful staff, to the site manager whom nothing was too much trouble. The sales executives were both considerate and sympathetic to Angie and they made the entire process as simple and hassle-free as possible, which was what we needed during difficult times. We certainly had some dark clouds over us for most of last year, but moving in to our new home has given us a silver lining.”
The Gingells have been in their new home for three months now and couldn’t be happier. However, they almost missed out on finding their dream home because of rumours.
Angie explained: “We’d heard negative reports about the Kingsway area so although we were aware the development was here we never visited. Then one day we were passing and thought we might as well drop by and take a look for ourselves and we’re so glad we did.
“The area is great, the location fantastic and the neighbours are lovely – everyone is friendly and welcoming and we’ve had no trouble at all. The safety of our daughter’s is our number one priority and we wouldn’t move somewhere that would compromise that. We honestly don’t know why it has a negative image because to us it’s a dream come true.”
On choosing the Chelmsford Angie and Neil said: “It was simply love at first sight – it’s amazing and a far cry from the two bedroom bungalow! It has three floors, five bedrooms, a big kitchen and breakfast area, a spacious lounge leading to the dining room and a study. In the bungalow we shared one bathroom and one toilet between us, now we all have our own en-suite plus an extra bathroom for guests – queuing to brush our teeth is definitely a thing of the past.”
Hannah, 13, and Sophie, 12, have gone from sharing a bedroom between them to having two bedrooms and a bathroom each and are in the throes of designing their ‘second bedrooms’. “They’re considering a dance studio, games room, dressing room, homework room or simply just a chill out room. They have so much choice they don’t know what to do with it” said Angie.
The family had always wanted pet cats, but in the bungalow there simply wasn’t enough room so as soon as they had settled into their stunning home they purchased two cats, Alfie and Barnaby, who are brothers, from the RSPCA.
Angie commented: “The cats absolutely love the space and enjoy nothing more than chasing each other from the study across the hall into the lounge, through to the dining room, on to the kitchen and back out to the hall again. It’s such a pleasure knowing that we’ve given them both a happy home and kept them together – they’ve certainly become part of our family.”
Angie is coming up to her fourth month in remission and is looking forward to the future and spending time with her family.
The couple concluded: “Thanks to Taylor Wimpey we have a dream house which is finished to a very high standard. We feel very settled and comfortable in our new home and are looking forward to a very long and happy future here with our two children.”
