Step back in time for a great family fun day out

The first Beaulieu Steam Revival, held last year, reprised the steam events that were so popular during the early years of the attraction.  Judging by the enthusiasm and enjoyment of visitors and exhibitors alike, the popularity of ‘steam’ remains strong and enduring.  The inspiration for the show was to ‘step back in time’, with all steam engines on site working and showing how they were used, and with the opportunity for visitors to take steam trailer rides around the parkland.

This year’s event, being held on the 4th & 5th June, takes place in the grounds of the National Motor Museum. Set in the heart of the beautiful New Forest, this nostalgic event showcases the best collection of working steam exhibits in an authentic environment. Combining a unique blend of heritage and entertainment and the opportunity to explore the Beaulieu attraction, there really is something for everyone at the Beaulieu Steam Revival.

Among the major attractions will be the free Fun Fair with old-tyme steam driven fairground rides including Gallopers, Bumper Cars and Speedway. There will be additional side attractions, musical organs and a superb collection of heavy haulage and running steam cars.

For 2011 the Steam Revival will feature live demonstrations of agricultural traction engines in a harvest threshing area and thatching and timber working, using wood from the Beaulieu Estate, in the woodland and orchard area.  There will also be a cider press and craft displays.

There will be boiler making and engine restoration in the Foundry and Blacksmith Shop, as well as brick making and road laying.  All the family can enjoy free trailer and miniature steam engine rides plus many more surprises around each corner!

Ticket prices are £30 for a family (2 adults and up to 3 children) and can be booked in advance at beaulieushop.co.uk

Don’t forget that the ticket price includes entry to the National Motor Museum Palace House and gardens, 13th century Beaulieu Abbey, World of Top Gear and the James Bond exhibition.
