It seems location is still the key for many homebuyers after Redrow sold seven homes in just one month in a sought-after Devon town.

The housebuilder is celebrating after Orleigh Cross, in Newton Abbot, proved to be March’s new homes success story. There are now just 16 homes remaining before the development is a sell out success.

With an enviable location, close to some of the most beautiful countryside and coastline in the UK, the two, three and four-bedroom homes have attracted a range of purchasers from first time buyers, families and downsizers to those looking for a holiday home or a buy-to-let property.

Add to the equation the superb leisure activities in the area and the fact that the homes are all energy efficient and low maintenance, the new venture has evidently struck on a winning formula.

Hayley Zaple, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South West), said: “The homes at Orleigh Cross have been selling very well in recent weeks, and although there are just 16 homes remaining, there is still a wide choice of two, three and four-bedroom homes available at this scenic location, just 30 minutes drive from Exeter.

“There’s something to suit everyone, from first time home owners to larger families as well as buy-to-let investors or those looking for a holiday home. But we would urge buyers to hurry as we don’t expect the final homes to be around for long.”

Among the home that are ready and waiting to be moved into is the four-bedroom detached Milthorpe, priced from £292,995. This large three-storey home comprises of a downstairs cloakroom, a kitchen/diner, utility area and a lounge which has French doors on to the garden. The dual aspect master bedroom, with en-suite shower room, is situated on the first floor, along with a second bedroom and family bathroom. Two further double bedrooms are found on the top floor together with an additional shower room.

There are also four-bedroom detached ‘Lynton’ homes ready to move into, priced from £289,995.

All homes feature Redrow’s latest interior specification with its emphasis on open plan living areas, plus contemporary new kitchen designs, including floor to ceiling units and top brand name appliances.

Situated less than a mile from Newton Abbot town centre and within easy reach of the aptly named “English Riviera” of Torbay, the new homes at Orleigh Cross provide residents with the perfect base from which to enjoy the stunning countryside on their doorstep or partake in activities such as sailing and water sports nearby. They are close to Dartmoor National Park and the M5.

A selection of two bedroom coach houses is priced from £127,995, three-bedroom homes from £194,995 and other four-bedroom homes from £212,995.

Newton Abbot train station is around a mile away and has regular direct services to Exeter and Torquay. Close by there is a good choice of primary and secondary schools, as well as leisure and health facilities.

To find out more visit Orleigh Cross Thursday to Monday, between 10am and 5.30pm.
