Escape the rental trap to a home of your own in Selby
First time buyers in Selby could find that home ownership is more affordable than they realised thanks to Redrow.
The award-winning housebuilder is offering customers the chance to defer paying up to a quarter of the price of selected properties at Debut @ Selby.
It means buyers could discover that owning their own home is cheaper than renting.
Patsy Aicken, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), explained: “Many people dream of home ownership but have resigned themselves to renting in the mistaken belief that they can’t afford to buy a home of their own. Thanks to our ‘easi:buy’ scheme, Debut @ Selby offers an affordable alternative to renting and buyers could even find that their mortgage repayments are lower than the rent they would pay for a similar-sized property.
“Even better, they shouldn’t need a hefty deposit, which all too often is the biggest barrier to overcome for those stepping onto the property ladder.”
One-bedroom apartments at Debut @ Selby are on the market for as little as £52,999. Redrow is offering customers the chance to defer paying up to 25% of the price with its ‘easi:buy’ scheme, bringing the initial outlay down to just £39,749.
“At Debut @ Selby you shouldn’t need to scrimp and save while you try to raise enough cash for a deposit at the same time as paying rent on your existing home. With ‘easi:buy’ you could find that as little as £2,000 is enough to get you onto the property ladder,” Patsy explained.
“Our mortgage advisers have identified mortgage products which mean you could be paying less than £300 a month to cover not only your monthly mortgage repayments, but also, thanks to our single monthly service charge, your household bills.”
With ‘easi:buy’ a customer with a deposit of £1,988 would only need to apply for a mortgage of £37,761.
The outstanding balance can be repaid at any time over the 10 years, when the purchaser has more funds available or when they come to resell.
The ‘easi:buy’ payment is subject to terms and conditions and the deferred element is paid back at market value at the time of payment, which could go down as well as up.
“If the price in itself isn’t enough, we’re making it even easier to set up home at Debut @ Selby by offering to include a home starter pack full of essentials from a sofa to a bed and bedding and even kitchen utensils with selected apartments,” Patsy added.
“Plus home owners won’t even need to worry about budgeting for utility bills; gas, electricity and water charges, even the window cleaning, are included in a single monthly service charge of just £110.”
