Home is where the heart is at Riverside Quarter

‘Attractive’, ‘unique’ and ‘homely’ are just three words being used by homeowner Kelly Gaffney to describe the attractive Riverside Quarter development where she lives in Colchester, and it’s easy to see why the site has become so popular as there are an abundance of benefits to living at this Colchester location.
“My partner Mark and I were the first residents to move to Riverside Quarter and we couldn’t be happier here,” comments Kelly. “We saw the development was being built by Persimmon Homes and decided it would be a great place to live as it’s close to the heart of Colchester, whilst still being surrounded by plenty of greenery.”
Kelly and Mark chose one of Persimmon Homes Essex’s spacious three bedroom housetypes, and were able to take advantage of a shared equity scheme which allowed them to purchase their new home with relative financial ease.
It was important for Kelly, who doesn’t drive, to be close to the local amenities in Colchester as she explains: “I work from home so it’s great to be able to just step outside my front door and either take a short walk to Colchester town centre or make the most of the walks, cycle paths and the nature reserve which are all close to home, it’s the best of both worlds.”
Kelly adds: “There really is so much going for our development, I know there has been some concern about potential flooding, but this just isn’t necessary. Persimmon has put in such excellent drainage facilities that even throughout bad weather the surrounding roads, including Cowdray Avenue, don’t flood anymore, so there’s no worry of the houses ever being affected.
“We’ve already created such a lovely home for ourselves and are looking forward to welcoming more new neighbours to the development soon.”
Currently available at Riverside Quarter is a collection of three and four bedroom family homes with prices starting from just £199,950 for the Highfield design.
Riverside Quarter benefits from being surrounded by green open space, making up the conservation area which Persimmon has worked alongside Essex Wildlife Trust to create. For ease of access around the development and into Colchester’s centre, the homebuilder has created number of new riverside walks, footpaths and cycle ways. Riverside Quarter is also situated close to Castle Park, which offers a host of leisure pursuits for all the family to enjoy.
